Data Tool - SASP

I used Drupal to create a data tracking tool for Scarborough Addiction Services Partnership (SASP). It required permissions restricted to each of the agencies that are part of the partnership. Each agency has a number of practitioners and one from each agency is assigned to be able to edit data that others enter. There is the overall SASP manager who is able to edit, view and download all the data from any agency.

The site is based on Drupal 5, using stock CCK and Views, and making good use of node references. It uses Organic Groups to restrict permissions by agency. Automatic Nodetitles allow the title to include custom text. Type User NIDs allows the client nodes to automatically increment, assigning a unique ID number to each subsequent client of each individual practitioner. Value List allows for an easier way to edit the value lists for select boxes. Bonus: Views Export allows the SASP manager to download the data to a comma-separated value file, which will then be used in their statistics program. Daterange allows Views to filter by a certain range of dates (not stock yet in Drupal 5 Views).

It has a barebones look because it's not open to the public, but the staff have found it to be quite useful compared to many of the other reporting tools they have to use. Goes to show that Drupal does a good job with data despite it being primary for websites and not for collecting statistics.
